Melbourne W2 Class Tram Nearing Completion

Today I took a break from 3D modelling of future tram projects and gave my airbrush a workout on my newly printed Melbourne W2 Class HO tram.

Here are the results. Numbers and destination signs are yet to be fitted.

    Hi jspinella2000,
What do I get for my $99.09 plus postage?
A raw tram carcass or a detailed painted tram externally and internally?
    and
From where do I purchase these “BullAnt power bogies” ?
Otherwise they look very good and I want one…!!

      Hi Brian,
The price includes as you say the basic tram model components. You will need to paint it yourself. The model is printed in New York and shipped directly to the customer. In fact I don’t ever get to see the model. Shapeways is great however with their returns policy. I once had a print sent that arrived damaged and after a quick email to them, they sent a replacement straight away, no further questions asked. Unfortunately 3D printing is still rather expensive and I have to build up enough material support in the model to make it sturdy. I also use the Ultra Detailed material for best surface finish which is of course the most expensive.

The mechanisms can be ordered locally in Australia from Hollywood Foundry http://www.hollywoodfoundry.com
I also order my trolley poles from a great guy in the US, Brian Weisman. Search his eBay username: brianweismanjbw

I’ve almost released a Brisbane Drop Centre car which will use a different mech however. It will use a BEC maximum traction truck. The rest of the models are designed however for the BullAnt.

      I hope this helps.
